2008 has been a sensational year for KushNivas Standard Poodles. We started the year with Teka and Justin producing eight beautiful babes. And we finished the year with three new Champions: Jessie, Jewel and TJ (Deja) who is also our first Therapy Dog. Plus we have been blessed with our first Best in Show, Ashton.
We owe many thanks to Teri Taplin, without her assistance and belief in our babes this year could have been very different. We owe thanks to the Judges who supported the Kids of KushNivas and bestowed upon them many wonderful wins. We also owe thanks to the wonderful families that have provided Teka's 2008 kids with wonderful forever homes.
November 29th and 30th, 2008 at CKOC Jessie finished off a sensational year. From the Breed Class which included a number of lovely mature adults, 10 month old Jessie proved she truly deserves the title of Ch. KushNivas' Don't Just Wink. She took Best of Breed and Best Puppy in Group under esteemed judges Mr. Thomas Touzel, Mr. Michael Hill (Breed level Sunday)) and Mr. Frank Sabella (Group level Sunday) Thank you all for concluding Jessie's 1st year in style.

Saturday evening "Poodle Club of Canada Western Regional" Judge Luis Aizcorbe. With Ari moved up to Specials, he was a young man in a world of huge coated Specials. (Remember he is only 11 months and 3 days). Ari was on top of the world. He didn't know that he was a babe in a big boys world, and nobody was going to tell him so, as he wasn't about to listen. The judge pulled three males from the line up, the the decision was then made..... Ari was presented with the Best of Variety and Puppy in Variety at the Poodle Club of Canada Western Regional.
Next came Breed Judging..... gosh by this time Ari is totally wired. every time the crowd cheered, he figured he had to perform... I have never seen him move the way that he moved. (I was later told that is very reminiscent of his grand-father Colin's movement) At the end of the evening Breed went to an exceptional mini Male and Ari took Puppy in Breed. Quite the accomplishment for a baby who has just turned 11 months. Our poor boy was exhausted. He just wanted to sleep. He had been up since 6:30 AM and by the time we got back to benching, it was 10 pm.

KushNivas has a new arrival!!!!!!!
The girls are pleased to welcome Aris Talisman of KushNivas (Ari) to their household. Ari is a true free spirit, he can and does entertain himself for hours. He has claimed all the toys and "The" favoured bed as his. There is no need to convince this boy to eat, we believe he is part "Hoover".
June 2007 was a bitter sweet month. We lost our beloved FAI, she was the foundation of KushNivas Standard Poodles. FAI will never be forgotten, we have planted a beautiful little garden in our yard in her memory. It is located in an area where she would lie in the shade to watch me work in the garden. She is forever in our hearts. She has left a legacy of wonderful children and grandchildren to carry on her love of life and undying spirit.
A week later FAI's daughter, Teka, acquired her American Championship and a Group 4 while at home Teka's son, age 8 months, acquired his first points and a Group 2 towards his Canadian Championship.
