July /2009
Wow, this has been a wonderful year. Our beautiful Piper (KushNivas' Brielle RE APDT R1) has just finished her Rally Advanced in three straight trials. Piper is Teka's beautiful sister. Congratulations to her owner Catherine, we couldn't be prouder of your hard work and all your successes in the ring. May you have many more.
As well, our young Justice has just returned from the US. He spent one month with handler Lacy Williams. During that time he picked up two majors and points totalling 14. Yup 14 points and he is now home. Many thanks to the Judges who appreciated Justice and awarded him these awesome wins. Hopefully Justice will return to the US this fall and pick up the remaining one point..
May/June 2010
Well we are definitely blessed this Spring. The last week of May, Ari earned his CD, he is now Ch Aris Talisman of KushNivas CGN CD. Not only did he acquire his CD, but he did it with a HIGH IN TRIAL. Whoa, be still my heart. This is my first High In Trial. I'v had lots of High In Class and a Grand Aggregate, but never before a High In Trial. I am still not sure how he did it, but we've got the ribbon and photo to prove it. Please visit Ari's page to view his photo.
The following day I left Ari in Rod's wonderful care and flew off, with Justice, to Edmonton, Alberta to attend NACA's Spring show. Justice discovered planes are fun and that the wind does really blow in Alberta. While there he met his beautiful sister, Panache (Ch Alias Let's Just Do It) and her wonderful mom, Gale. As well, with many thanks to Judges P. Otero, Eugene Blake, and Thomas Touzel, Justice became Ch. KushNivas Alias Just A Strutin, by taking Best of Winners and Best Opposite three out of four days. Justice was under the superb guidance of Teri Taplin, his co-Breeder and second mom.
April 2010
We are pleased to announce KushNivas' Brielle RN APDT R1 (Piper) has earned her CKC RN in 3 trials with 2 firsts in class (including a perfect score) and her APDT R1 (Award of Excellence) in three trials with 3 High in Class and 1 High in Trial. She finished her last leg for both titles on the same weekend. Congratulations to Piper and her Mom, and good luck in future endeavours.
Wow, April was very good to us. Panache, Ch. Alias Let's Just Do It has earned her Championship, under the superb guidance of her Co-Breeder/Co-owner Teri Taplin. All done in one weekend plus one day. Congratulations to Gale (Panache's full-time Mom) and Teri!! While Teri was in the ring with Panache, Gale was in the ring with Panache's half sister, Kismet. They got high in class in open and utility once and third in open on Friday and then on Sunday they got high in trial.
Meanwhile back here in Ontario, Panache's little brother, Justice (KushNivas Alias Just A Strutin) , under my non-skilled hand, earned his first two points. Being as it was his first show and there were no other males showing, we were very please to take Best of Winners under esteemed Judge Charles Bett.
February 2010
February 23, Ari and Teka became parents. This is Ari's first litter and Teka's last. Teka will join Ari in the Obedience Ring later this spring and show Ari how it is done. The fun is just beginning.
January 2010
Ari has surprised us once again. We attended an Obedience trial just as a dry run. We wanted to confirm the highs and lows of our training progress. Remember he only started Obedience in November. Well aside from being distracted by a dumbell (He thought he had died and gone to heaven, somebody was giving him a dumbell) which landed right beside him on the other side of the small fence dividing the rings, and going for a couple of small poodle zoomies, Ari has one leg of his CD, with a score of 190 out of 200. Needless to say we are back to work on paying attention to ME!! The date for our next go around has not yet been set.
Well here goes another year. We have started out 2010 in fine style. Ari competed in his first Rally-O Trials, and he proudly showed his mom that he has been listening to her these past few months. First trial he scored 95 out of 100. Mom was very pleased. In the second trial, Ari decided to show the judge he really knew what he was suppose to do and came away with 99 out of 100. In the third trial the next morning, he was a little tired (getting up at 5 am to go to a trial isn't his idea of fun), but he still held it together and came away with a 97 out of 100. (marks off in all three trials, were all errors attributed to MOM!!!! but Ari graciously forgave her and gave her a big hug each day just before leaving the ring.... what a boy!) He is now Ch. Aris Talisman of KushNivas RN CGN.
Ari also had a busy Christmas. He is pleased to announce he is going to be a Daddy. He and Teka are expecting their first litter the middle of February. Just about the same time as his first attempt at Obedience Trials. Keep your fingers crossed...
Good-bye 2009
Well it seems 2009 has come and gone. We have had an interesting year, our move to Ontario, Teka's third beautiful litter. And retirement at last.
Ari has worked hard this fall, perfecting his Rally-O moves and learning what obedience is all about. He will begin 2010 with Rally trials and then a few short weeks later he will try his hand at Obedience trials.
Wishing all a Joyous Christmas and a safe and prosperous 2010.
October 2009
Teka'a first born is now American Canadian Champion KushNivas WinterAsh Seransil. Thank you Mr. Ed Biven for appreciating this fine young boy. Congratulation and thanks go to Ashton's owner handler Evelyn Sera. Evelyn has almost exclusively handled Ashton from the beginning with occasional help from Robyn DeJager. Thanks for doing a great job with "our" boy in the conformation ring. We will now await the same outstanding results in the Agility Ring.
2009 is commencing with Jessie traveling to the USA for the first time.
Well, Jessie came to Portland and thoroughly enjoyed herself as any puppy should... From the Open Class, she took Reserve to a Five Point Major. What more could we have asked for. There were 23 Bitches, we were very proud of our little girl... Later in the weekend Jessie went on to take Winners Female for her first US Major... No show photo was taken, but we did get a number of great shots ringside and in the ring during the course of the weekend....
